Theme Park Insider polls its readers for their yearly Theme Park Insider Awards. This years winner for Best Theme Park Hotel was Disney’s Wilderness Lodge in Disney World.
The Wilderness Lodge is one of Disney World’s “deluxe” resorts. While the Wilderness Lodge is a less expensive option, these resorts can still be quite expensive. Still the resort beat out some stiff competition. From the article:
A runner-up last year, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge in 2010 wins the Best Theme Park Hotel honor for this first time. Located near Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, the Wilderness Lodge nevertheless is set back into the Central Florida woods, evoking the resort’s theme of a national park lodge. Yet the level of service is pure Disney, winning raves – and repeat visits – from many ThemeParkInsider.com readers.
Lodges were apparently in style, since Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge was a runner-up in the competition. They share many similarities including very compelling decoration and design. You can view pictures of the Wilderness Lodge on the Wilderness Lodge Fan Site as well as pictures of the Animal Kingdom Lodge on the Animal Kingdom Lodge fan site. These can give you and idea of what it’s like to stay in these award-winning resorts.
