The Walt Disney World Resort has recently announced a $500,000 grant that will go toward helping the homeless in Central Florida.
Walt Disney World Resort president George Kalogridis made the announcement at last Sunday’s performance of the Candlelight Procession where members of the community and nonprofit leaders were in attendance.
The grant will be given to the Homeless Impact Fund which was established by the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness. The $500,000 from Disney will be used for families in Orange and Osceola counties.
The Homeless Impact Fund was started last year with a $6 million grant from the Florida Hospital.
Last year Disney’s charitable gift was $25,000 to the Community Food & Outreach Center in Orlando.
