On Sunday, Walt Disney World presented a $30,000 gift to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida – specifically, their Kids Cafe program.
The Kids Cafe program provides nutritious meals to over 900 local children, and Walt Disney World’s gift helps further the food bank’s goal. Meg Crofton, president of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Operations, presented the gift.
Dave Krepcho, president and CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank, says:
No American, and especially no child, should go hungry, and we thank Disney for making it possible for us to help more families in more neighborhoods across the country this school year. This donation will help our Kids Cafe program give parents and caregivers an additional way to ensure that their children receive hot and nutritious meals.
While the gift was certainly a welcome early Christmas present for the food bank, Walt Disney World also gave Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida $500,000 last month to help them build a larger facility to serve more locals in need.
