Walt Disney Imagineering has announced the finalists for the Imaginations design competition, which was created to develop future talent and give students a place to showcase their skills.
The competition is looking to find and nurture the next generation of Disney Imagineers while brining a fresh perspective to Walt Disney Imagineering.
The challenge for this year’s competition was: Take what Disney does best today—from its world-class theme parks, resorts, cruise ships and other entertainment venues that are highly popular with families—and apply it to transportation within a major city.
The teams were challenged to create a transportation experience with vehicles that reflect the diversity of the city while being accessible, energy efficient, and distinctly Disney.
The 2015 final teams are: The Wunderkids from Art Center College of Design; Woollahra from Drexel University; New Orleans Double Rail from the Ringling College of Art + Design; Aether from San Jose State University; La Grand Masquerade from Texas Tech University; and Line 55 from the University of Nevada, Reno.
The teams will travel to Walt Disney Imagineering on January 26 to present their projects to a team of Imagineers.
