The 2015 D23 Expo in Anaheim is just a couple months away and the Walt Disney Animation Studios recently announced its lineup of events.
On Friday, August 14 fans can attend ‘Every Story is a Journey: The Upcoming Films of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.’ This event is a must-see at each Expo and is once again hosted by John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.
At the seminar, filmmakers will unveil footage from The Good Dinosaur, Finding Dory, and Disney Animation’s Zootopia and Moana.
On Saturday, August 15 fans can attend ‘Welcom to Zootopia,’ where directors Byron Howard (Tangled) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It-Ralph) will introduce footage from the new film and share behind-the-scenes stories.
The Disney animated hit Aladdin will be discussed during ‘Aladdin – The Making of a Classic’ on Saturday, August 15. Join directors John Musker and Ron Clements along with Linda Larkin, the voice of Jasmine to hear stories about the film.
Walt Disney Animation Studios is continuing the tradition of making short films that was started back in 1923 with Walt and Roy Disney. And during ‘The Shorts of Walt Disney Animation Studios: from Paperman to Prep & Landing, Feast to Frozen Fever’ fans can learn about the animated short art form on Sunday, August 16.
Frozen fans will want to be part of Frozen FANdemonium: A Musical Celebration! on Sunday, August 16. This panel is hosted by Chris Montan, president of Walt Disney Music and the Oscar-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
This panel includes Anna and Elsa and sing-along experiences, along with the stories behind the songs from Frozen.
Other events on the Expo floor include an Animation Show Floor Exhibition with live demonstrations, presentations, and autograph signings with top filmmakers from both studios; an Animator’s Gallery with Eric Goldberg; and a Frozen Album Signing with Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
