The theatrical debut of Lincoln is now just one month away, and we’re so excited to see what’s in store with this important new film. Luckily, this week brought the release of a new extended trailer for the film, which debuted on Wednesday during the first presidential debate.
Lincoln, which stars Daniel-Day Lewis as the legendary president Abraham Lincoln and is directed by Stephen Spielberg, takes a look at Lincoln’s final months in office and the struggles he faced in passing the 13th amendment. The film is produced by Dreamworks Pictures, with Disney serving as its distributor. The new extended trailer takes a broader look at American history and how Lincoln’s words apply to more than just the time period he lived in, as well as a highly-charged look at some of the action and conflict we can expect in this new film.

Lincoln will be released in select theaters November 9, with a wider release scheduled for November 16, 2012.
