The Shanghai Disney Resort is scheduled to open in 2016 and Disney CEO Bob Iger recently gave an update about the project.
Images of construction at Shanghai Disney Resort were released to the public and include an aerial view of the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and the Toy Story Hotel.
The Shanghai Disneyland Hotel was “topped off” just 12 months after vertical construction started. The hotel will feature 420 rooms and is the signature hotel for the resort.
The Toy Story Hotel will be an 800-room hotel and was topped off in 2014.
Shanghai Disneyland is also home to the first Pirates-themed land at a Disney theme park. The land – Treasure Cove – will be the home of the E-ticket attraction Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure.
This attraction will feature both Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Davy Jones.
Shanghai Disney Resort is scheduled to open in the spring of 2016.
