In a magnanamous gesture, Lee Unkrich, Directory of Pixar’s Toy Story 3 is auctioning off some of his personal collection of rare memorabilia to benefit the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. The auction is being held on EBay and is a personal effort of the director himself, not by the company.
In addition to helping the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, the director views this as an opportunity to release some these rare items into the world. Many collectors will be ecstatic to get an opportunity at such personalized finds. Items are still being added and the Pixar Blog quotes the director as saying:
Like everyone else, I’ve been horrified by what happened in Haiti, and the sheer enormity of dealing with the injured and homeless. I saw these auctions as a simple way to not only do my bit to help, but to also send some memorabilia out into the world that others will appreciate.
