Starting next spring the Tokyo Disney Resort will begin a 10-year expansion of both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea.
The announcement of the expansion was made by the Oriental Land Company as part of their 500 billion yen investment in the theme parks.
The project includes a new and expanded Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland, nearly doubling the size of the theme park. New attractions, restaurants, and shops are also planned for the park.
At Tokyo Disney Sea, a new themed port will be developed in the area south of the Lost River Delta. This will be the eighth themed port in the park and will include new attractions, restaurants, and shops.
Oriental Land also plans to renovate or create new attractions and entertainment programs, in addition to improving restaurants, easing congestion in guest areas, and create a “more comfortable environment” for all guests.
