In just a few short days, Disney California Adventure will celebrate the grand opening of Cars Land, a new themed area that gives Disneyland guests the chance to step into the world of Cars‘ Radiator Springs. But how did Radiator Springs come to be in the first place? That question will soon be answered in a new animated short, Time Travel Mater.
In Time Travel Mater, Mater travels back in time to witness the founding of Radiator Springs. Disneyland guests will be the first to see the short in its entirety, as Time Travel Mater will make its grand debut at the Blue Sky Cellar in Disney California Adventure on June 15. Viewers nationwide will be able to see the short just a day later on June 16, when it premieres on ABC with a showing of Cars at 8:00 PM/7:00 central. During the ABC showing of Cars, viewers will also be treated to a special tour of Cars Land by the voice of Mater himself, Larry the Cable Guy.
