Spring is in full bloom at Epcot now that the 2015 Flower and Garden Festival officially opened on March 4! This year guests can enjoy millions of flowers, Frozen-theme topiaries, food and drink at the Outdoor Kitchens, and some really great festival merchandise!
Speaking of special events at Walt Disney World Resorts, the dates for this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party have been announced! Tickets go on sale in April so keep an eye on DisZine as we’ll report the sale dates as soon we know them!
The 2015 Star Wars Weekends start May 14 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney Parks Merchandise is hosting a Galactic Gathering to get things started! Registration for this event opened on March 4 and tickets are $250 per person!
The package for the Galactic Gathering includes: a Rebel or Empire MagicBand, commemorative trading pin, Darth’s Mall Light Speed Pass good for all five weekends, and a Han Solo-inspired popcorn bucket.
At the end of this month guests at Epcot can celebrate Easter with Disney’s Egg-stravaganza event. You just need to purchase a special map and search for the Disney-themed eggs throughout Epcot. Once your map is completed with the stickers that correspond to the eggs you can turn it in for a special surprise.
And finally perhaps the biggest news from Disney World this week is the announcement of expansions at both Soarin’ and Toy Story Midway Mania. Soarin’ will be adding a third screen and a new projection system, and Toy Story Midway Mania will be adding a third track to the very popular ride! Updates are expected to be completed in 2016.
