It’s been a huge week in the Disney news cycle with announcements about new experiences, dates for the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, and so much more!
Let’s jump right in and break it down.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is going to become very popular with Star Wars fans way before the new expansion opens! A brand-new slate of experiences begins at the park this spring.
Starting April 4, a brand new Star Wars stage show – Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away – will be performed daily at the Center Stage in front of the Chinese Theater. The show will feature moments from the film saga and characters including Kylo Ren, Darth Vader, and Darth Maul.
Also on April 4, Captain Phasma will lead a platoon of First Order Stormtroopers from Star Wars Launch Bay to the Center Stage several times each day. And later this summer a new fireworks spectacular begins combining fireworks, pyrotechnics, special effects, and video projections for the most epic fireworks display ever at the Studios.
New Balance and runDisney have partnered to create 16 running trails around the Walt Disney World Resort. It’s time to lace up those running shoes!
Two new character experiences are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this springs – guests will have a chance to meet Olaf near Echo Lake while Sorcerer Mickey and Hollywood starlet Minnie Mouse will meet fans near Commissary Lane.
The countdown is on to the 2016 Epcot Food and Wine Festival! The dates have been announced and this year the festival runs for two months from September 14 through November 14!
Speaking of food and wine, the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival returns this year on April 1. The festival runs each weekend through May 1.
And finally, a new stage show is coming to the Magic Kingdom this summer. Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire marks the first time Tiana and Rapunzel will star in a stage show at the park.
