Whew! What a week it’s been. For only the fourth time in its history, the Walt Disney World Resort closed all the theme parks in anticipation of a hurricane this week.
As Hurricane Matthew barreled toward Florida last last week the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs were closed at 5 p.m. Thursday and remained closed on Friday.
Disney also relocated hotel guests from several of the resort’s hotels including Fort Wilderness.
It was back to business as usual by 8 a.m. Saturday!
In other news, the October merchandise events were announced for Walt Disney World and they’re all scheduled for locations inside Disney Springs.
Disney also announced two new vacation deals for trips in early 2017 in addition to new ticket and room specials for military families.
And, in celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Magic Kingdom new discounts are available for Annual Passholders!
Our friends at the Disney Food Blog have recently launched a new YouTube Channel!
And finally, Disney gave fans a sneak peek at the new animated series Tangled: The Series, which premieres on Disney Channel in 2017.
That’s the big news from last week! We’re sure this week will be full of fun and exciting news too. Stay tuned to DisZine for all the Disney news every week. And be sure to follow us on Twitter and like us over on Facebook.
