Judging by the weather outside it is now officially summer, but we’re already excited about this fall at the Walt Disney World Resort thanks to some big news last week!
First, Disney announced some really big news for this year’s Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. This year marks the 20th anniversary of this fan-favorite foodie event and we heard about new dishes debuting at the marketplace booths, a new premium event, and even new artists coming for the Eat to the Beat Concert Series!
And if that wasn’t exciting enough, Disney also announced an all-new villainous nighttime show for this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stars the sisters from the film Hocus Pocus in addition to some other Disney villains. It’ll happen every night during the Halloween party at the Magic Kingdom.
In not-so-magical news, there are reports that Disney is considering a “surge” ticketing system that will increase ticket prices – possibly up to $125!! at the Magic Kingdom – during certain times of the year. There’s no official word on this and the “news” is based on a guest survey, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Now if you’d like to stay at the Magic Kingdom like royalty we suggest you enter the all-new Coolest Summer Ever Disney Side contest. The grand prize winners – yes, there’s more than one! – will receive a Walt Disney World Resort vacation that includes an overnight stay at Cinderella Castle!
And because we’re so excited about the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration this year we have to tell you about the all-new “Decades” merchandise for the anniversary. Each month a new decade will debut and you’re going to want to check out this merchandise! It’s a collection 60 years in the making!
That’s the big news from the week! We’re sure this week will be full of fun and exciting news too. Stay tuned to DisZine for all the Disney news every week. And be sure to follow us on Twitter and like us over on Facebook.
