Head to Madrid this fall if you’d like to be among the first to see “El Rey Leon” – “The Lion King” in Spanish – as the show is set to debut in the Spain’s capital this October.
Previously translated into Japanese, German, Korean, French, Dutch, and Mandarin, the Madrid performance will mark the first time the show is performed in Spanish, and will be the largest stage musical ever presented in Spain.
Since its premiere on Broadway in 1997, “The Lion King” has been seen by more than 54 million people globally, with 18 productions grossing over $4.2 billion.
The show will open on October 21 at Lope de Vega Theatre on Madrid’s Gran Via.
