Following the success of Disney’s Tangled in 2010, it looks like director Byron Howard will soon return to helm another Disney film. It was reported this week that Walt Disney Animation Studios is currently working on a new animated film, which will be directed by Howard and star Jason Bateman.
News of the upcoming film was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, and has not yet been officially confirmed by Disney. The film is described as an “untitled animal comedy” that does not yet have a release date.
This would mark the first voice-over role in a feature film for Bateman, who is known for his work on the television series Arrested Development and in such films as Juno, Hancock, Horrible Bosses, and Identity Thief. In addition to his work as co-director on Tangled with Nathan Greco, Howard is also the director of Disney’s 2008 film Bolt.
Stay tuned for more news on this potential upcoming film.
