Princess Sofia and her royal family are setting sail on their first royal vacation in the first primetime special, Sofia the First: The Floating Palace.
The special episode premieres November 24 on the Disney Channel and November 28 on the 24-hour Disney Junior channel.
In the episode, Sofia is transformed into a mermaid and meets Princess Ariel from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Disney Legend Jodi Benson reprises her role as Ariel. The episode also introduces viewers to Oona, a young mermaid voiced by Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men).
Sofia the First: The Floating Palace takes Sofia and her family to Merriway Cove where Sofia meets Oona and untangles her fin from a net. Sofia’s magical amulet transforms the little princess into a mermaid, allowing her to explore the underwater world with Oona. After her new friend is captured by an evil sea monster, Sofia and Princess Ariel must find a way to save her and create harmony between the human and mermaid worlds.
