The Shanghai Disney Resort will celebrate its grand opening on June 16.
The “one-of-a-kind, world-class destination” will host a grand opening celebration on opening day and welcome its first official guests.
According to Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, the resort “reflects Disney’s legendary storytelling along with China’s rich culture.”
Shanghai Disney Resort will be home to two resorts – Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and the Toy Story Hotel. Guests will also discover a recreation area and a unique retail, dining, and entertainment district.
Shanghai Disneyland will be home to six themed lands and attractions that were designed specifically for the people of China. The park is home to Treasure Cove, which is the first pirate-themed land in any Disney park.
The park is also the located of the largest Disney castle in all of the Disney theme parks.
