If you want to participate in the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon or Half Marathon, you’re still in luck.
runDisney announced the ‘Goofy Giveback’ this week giving runners a chance to register for the once sold out Walt Disney World Marathon and Half Marathon.
This announcement comes on the heels of a recent episode of the ABC series Extreme Weight Loss where a father-daughter team spent a year losing weight then participating in a “reward challenge” at the 2014 Walt Disney World Half Marathon.
The response to the episode was overwhelming with many people wanting to register for the 2015 races which were already sold out.
The new registration period runs for 39 days (until October 24) or until the races reach capacity. Runners can register for the Walt Disney World Marathon, Half Marathon, or the Goofy Race and a Half Challenge – which is 39.3 miles.
As of press time the registrations for the full and half marathons and the Goofy Race and a Half Challenge were at 90 percent capacity. For more information on the races visit runDisney.com.
The 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend takes place January 7-11.
