Runners take your mark! Registration opens today for the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon.
The Walt Disney World Marathon weekend is January 7-11, 2015 at the Walt Disney World Resort and the races include the marathon, half marathon, Goofy Race and a Half Challenge, 10K, 5K, Dopey Challenge, and Kids races.
Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge is 39.3 miles over two days of races. It combines the Half Marathon on Saturday and the full Marathon on Sunday. Runners who complete both races within the pacing requirements will earn the Goofy medal in addition to the Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse finisher medals.
If the Goofy Challenge isn’t challenging enough, perhaps the Dopey Challenge is more your style. This challenge is 48.6 miles of running and includes the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and full Marathon.
Runners who complete all races in the Dopey Challenge will be awarded the Goofy Race and a Half Challenge medal in addition to the brand new Dopey challenge finisher medal, along with the medals for the 5K, 10K, half and full marathons. For those of you keeping track at home, that’s a total of six medals!
The 2015 Marathon weekend marks the inaugural year for the Walt Disney World 10K during the marathon weekend. Other Marathon Weekend events include a Pasta Party, a Cool Down Party, and the Disney Health & Fitness Expo.
