Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon has officially signed on to work with Disney in the upcoming film Wish List. Witherspoon, who is most known for her roles in such films as Legally Blonde, Walk the Line, and Sweet Home Alabama, will star in the live-action film, currently slated for a 2013 release.
Wish List will center on Witherspoon’s character, an ambitious thirty-something career woman. At the age of ten, the character makes ten wishes by throwing a coin into a wishing fountain. When the coin finally hits the bottom of the fountain twenty-five years later, Witherspoon’s character must deal with the ramifications of her childhood wishes finally coming true.
Although the leading role was originally envisioned for a man, Disney’s casting of Witherspoon seems to be a great fit, and we can’t wait to see what she will bring to the role. Wish List will feature a script by Randi Mayem Singer, and will be produced by Secretariat producers Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray.
