More than 14,000 participants are registered for Disneyland’s “Happiest Race on Earth” scheduled to be held on September 5th; representing participants from 16 countries and all 50 U.S. states. In true Disney style the 5th annual event has a lot of surprises in store; Disney characters, live entertainment, and finisher medals featuring Sleeping Beauty Castle are a few of the highlights. In addition to the 13.1 mile marathon racers also have the opportunity to participate in a Disneyland Fabulous 5K, family races, and a Health & Fitness Expo. 5,000 people are registered in the Family 5K and Kids’ Races, set to be held Sept. 4th.
Since it’s the 5th anniversary of the race Disney plans to honor nearly 570 “Legacy Runners” — those who will be running in their fifth Disneyland half marathon — with special recognition throughout the events. Guests don’t have to be a “Legacy Runner”, or even a race participant, to attend the Disneyland Health and Fitness Expo at the Disneyland Hotel. Racers & the general public are invited to explore 90 vendors of fitness apparel, footwear, sunglasses, high tech gadgets and nutritional products. This Expo will also feature official Disneyland Half Marathon merchandise.
Registration for the race events are currently closed but guests can get more information on the official site: Disneyland Half Marathon
