This morning, over 19,000 runners ran the Disney Princess Half Marathon in Walt Disney World. Leading the pack from start to finish was Rachel Booth of Mandeville, LA, who came in first place for the race. With a time of 1 hour, 18 minutes, 11 seconds, Booth also set a new record for the race, beating 2009 first place finisher Liza Galvan’s time by seven seconds.
This was not the first runDisney win for Booth, however. She is also the two-time winner of the Disneyland Half Marathon in Anaheim, CA, making her the first woman to win runDisney races in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
“This was a lot of fun to have my two children there to enjoy the whole experience and just to see Mommy cross the finish line with Minnie and Mickey,” Booth said. “To do it at both Disneyland and Disney World, it really distinguishes it from other races. It definitely has a little bit of a special place in my heart.”
Coming in second place in the race was Brittney Christianson of Burlington, ND, who finished with a time of 1:22:13. Congratulations to all of today’s runners!
