Fans of the popular show Phineas and Ferb on the Disney Channel/Disney XD are in for a treat on their next trip to Walt Disney World. After being pushed back from its original opening date of May 16, guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can now meet the show’s title characters themselves, in a new “play-and-greet” experience that makes its official debut at the park today.
In continuing with Disney’s recent trend of making guests’ experiences waiting in line more interactive, the play-and-greet gives guests the chance to not only meet the characters, but become part of the action. The play-and-greet, appropriately called “We’re Making a Movie–The Movie,” puts Phineas and Ferb in the middle of a film shoot, as they document their adventures in Walt Disney World. But while those two may be the stars, guests become part of the film as well, as director Cletus Filmore recruits “actors” to be part of the filming and participate in short games while they wait in line.
Interested in meeting Phineas and Ferb and becoming part of the action? The play-and-greet is located near the exit of Muppet*Vision 3-D in the Backlot area of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and takes place daily from 10:30 AM-2:00 PM and 3:00-5:30 PM.
