A 4,600 square foot luxury resort is opening in Walt Disney World; complete with a water park, air conditioned suites, and in-room televisions. Only this luxury resort wasn’t made for humans, it’s ready to house vacation-bound pets! With the ability to house up to 270 dogs and 30 cats overnight, as well as smaller creatures like ferrets & rabbits the new “Best Friends Pet Care” resort will serve as Disney’s new main boarding kennel. There are currently five, more traditional, boarding kennels on Walt Disney World property that will eventually be phased out.
“Our goal is to ensure that pets staying with us have a fun, action-packed vacation — just like their families vacationing at Walt Disney World,” Dennis Dolan, President and CEO of Best Friends Pet Care, said in a statement. (The Vancouver Sun)
Set to open on August 27, 2010, across from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort, the facility has been taking reservations for several months and encourages interested guests in booking early for their vacation needs.
