Editor’s Note: Today, we have another story from guest writer Cari Keebaugh. Take it away, Cari!
Remember playing arcade games back in the good old days? The beeps, blips, and various other sound effects filled the popcorn-perfumed arcade with a symphony of power-ups and special moves. Disney’s upcoming movie Wreck-It Ralph, directed by Rich Moore (who has worked on such various projects as Futurama and The Critic) promises to revitalize those nostalgic moments. But this time you’ll be eating your popcorn in a theater, not an arcade.
A recent TV spot for the move features Jane Lynch (Glee) and Jack McBrayer (30 Rock). Lynch voices the character Sgt. Calhoun, and Brayer is the voice of Fix-It Felix, Jr. The new promo, as well as the original, can be viewed on the movie’s homepage. The movie, which will be coming to theaters November 2, has been advertised in a variety of ways, from the previously-mentioned TV ads to the Wreck-It Ralph, Jr. app for iPhones and iPads. Wreck-It Ralph will even make an appearance in the upcoming Sonic All-Stars racing game and will star in his own game, which will be an extension of the film’s storyline. So give those control button-tapping thumbs a rest and enjoy Wreck-It Ralph (at least, until those new video games are released)!
