Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives in theaters next month with Episode IX arriving in December 2019.
And, Lucasfilm has announced that The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is creating an all-new trilogy for the film franchise.
Johnson is set to write and direct the first film in the new, as-yet-unnamed trilogy along with Ram Bergman as producer.
This new trilogy will be “separate from the episodic Skywalker saga” according to Lucasfilm.
No release dates, titles, or storylines for the new trilogy have been announced.
