Disneyland’s Rivers of America is getting a facelift.
The expansion project at Disneyland for the new 14-acre Star Wars land is scheduled to begin very soon.
And as part of the expansion, Frontierland will get a new waterfront area along the north bank of the Rivers of America.
The new riverbank will feature an elevated trestle for the Disneyland Railroad while the Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island is surrounded by the river. Walt Disney Imagineering recently released artwork of the updated Rivers of America area.
During the expansion project guests will also have a chance to get up close with the steam engines of the Disneyland Railroad at the Main Street and New Orleans Square Train Stations. Other limited-time experiences will also be announced throughout the year.
