It’s been nearly a year since Jerrod Maruyama’s Hipster Mickey art appeared at WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. And if you’re a fan of the original, you’ll be happy to know a new series is set to be launched later this summer.
The next series of collectible Hipster Mickey pieces is launching July 18, and a new piece will be released every three months.
The first piece in the series is called “Happiest Hipster on Earth” and features a cool looking Mickey Mouse in front of an old school, retro Disneyland ticket and signage. This image will be featured on a miniature gallery wrapped canvas, a limited edition giclee, a deluxe print, a T-shirt, and more items.
Fans of Hipster Mickey who want to be one of the first to own this new series can be part of a cocktail reception on July 18 from 7-10 p.m. at the WonderGround Gallery. Guests will have a chance to view and purchase merchandise from the Happiest Hipster on Earth collection, and have the artwork signed by Jerrod Maruyama. Tickets for this event go on sale Tuesday, May 21, at 11 a.m. (PT) via ArtofDisneyParks.com. Tickets are very limited, so get yours early.
