There’s a brand new family-friendly experience debuting this month at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
The ‘Disney Family Culinary Adventure’ is for guests ages 9 and older and gives guests a fun and interactive event with Disney chefs and hands-on cooking. The evening ends with a five-course dinner with beer and wine (for the grownups!) served by the professional catering staff.
The culinary adventure starts at 5 p.m. in the catering kitchen and the group will be divided into give cooking groups. The guests are guided through the cooking experience but they do it all including making cheese and rolling out pasta.
There are five stations in the experience: garde manger where guests make butter and farmer cheese; sushi where guests learn the art of rolling sushi; boucherie where guests learn to trim a beef tenderloin; pasta where three ingredients are used to make noodles; and patisserie where guests get to “play” with chocolate.
Once the hour-long prep work is complete the guests will take their seats at a large table in the kitchen to enjoy the five-course meal. There will be selections for vegetarian, vegan, and guests with allergies.
The meal ends with a special “molecular gastronomy” demo and the guests will receive a toque (chef’s hat) and a Disney cookbook to take home.
This special program starts July 8 and is planned for two nights a week starting at 5 p.m. The cost is $175 plus tax for guests ages 12 and older and $125 plus tax for ages 9-12. Transportation will be provided for Disney Resort guests. To book the experience call 407-WDW-PLAY.
