Disney pin collectors have something new to look forward to – the Hidden Mickey pins are arriving soon at Disney Parks.
These Hidden Mickey pins will soon be appearing on cast members’ lanyards and are used for pin trading with guests. The pins are distributed to cast members by the Disney pin team.
Hidden Mickey pins feature a small Mickey Mouse icon that is hidden in the artwork and collectors will find the words “Hidden Mickey pin” on the backs of the pins.
These special pins first appeared at Walt Disney World in 2002, and this year’s collections feature popular Disney characters and icons from around the Disney Parks.
The Disneyland Hidden Mickey pins include ‘it’s a small world’ designs, the faces of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree Signs, character tiki faces, and chaser pins. There is also a set of Disney California Adventure pins that were inspired by the tile work found outside Carthay Circle on Buena Vista Street.
The Walt Disney World Resort pins feature a shared ‘it’s a small world collection’ with Disneyland, Magic Kingdom parking signs with Disney heroes, Tangled’s Pascal in several different shades, the Seven Dwarfs, character sketch pads, and chaser pins.
The shared ‘it’s a small world’ collection was created in celebration of the Disneyland attraction which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The Seven Dwarfs collection was created to celebrate the opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at the Magic Kingdom.
