Celebration of the holiday season is officially underway today at Walt Disney World, with both Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party and The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights making their debut at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios this evening, respectively. But another very special Disney tradition is set to kick off later this month – Epcot’s Candlelight Processional. The Candlelight Processional will take place most nights, from November 26 through December 30.
Perhaps Disney’s most traditional holiday observation, the Candlelight processional is held nightly throughout the holiday season at the American Gardens Theatre. Each evening, a celebrity narrator tells the stirring Christmas story, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and a mass choir.
The complete list of narrators has been finalized, and the performance schedule will be as follows:
- Isabella Rossellini – 11/26 – 28
- John O’Hurley – 11/29 – 12/1
- Corbin Bernsen – 12/2 – 4
- Susan Lucci – 12/5 – 6
- Jodi Benson – 12/7 – 9
- Whoopi Goldberg – 12/10 – 11
- Steven Curtis Chapman – 12/12 – 15
- Thomas Gibson – 12/16 – 18
- Trace Adkins – 12/19 – 21
- Brad Garrett – 12/22 – 23
- Edward James Olmos – 12/24 – 27
- Marlee Matlin / Jack Jason – 12/28 – 30
In addition to the Candlelight Processional, guests can also stroll around World Showcase and encounter lots of Yuletide traditions from the various countries represented.
The Candlelight Processional is an extremely popular event and fills up fast. If sitting for the performance is important to you (you can stand behind the benches as well), you may want to consider the Candlelight Dinner Package, which features lunch or dinner at selected Epcot restaurants, guaranteed seating for the Candlelight Processional, as well as pre-arranged fireworks viewing.
