Fans at last week’s Star Wars Celebration heard some additional details about the Star Wars-themed lands coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland.
During a panel discussion, cast members from Walt Disney Imagineering and others from Lucasfilm discussed the partnership and details about the lands.
Fans learned that the lands will be based on a “mysterious destination” that is in the Outer Rim, “lying on the edge of Unknown Regions.” As the story goes, the village was once a bustling crossroads on the trade routes but it now home to those “who prefer less attention.”
Guests will have a chance to interact with characters from the Star Wars galaxy, in addition to piloting the Millennium Falcon, and much more.

The Star Wars-themed lands are set to open in 2019 at both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
