Many fans of the beautiful holiday lights that Epcot used to host were disappointed when some of the most spectacular displays were retired last year by Disney. But at least the music has returned.
Prior to 2009, guests to the park traveled through more than 30,000 lights that were formed into arches leading from Futureworld into World Showcase. The lights were synchronized with music, as was the nearby Fountain of Nations.
But last year, citing aging technology, Disney announced that the arches would no longer be part of the holiday display.
Cue disappointed fans, who apparently took to multiple message boards to cite their displeasure.
This year, while the arches are still missing, guests are pleasantly surprised to find that the music, complete with Fountain of Nations choreography, has returned.
Might Disney be planning to bring back the arches in the future, bigger, brighter, and “greener” than before?
One can only hope.
