We can’t wait for the upcoming film Oz: The Great and Powerful to debut in theaters this March, which chronicles what happened when the Wizard of Oz first arrived in Oz. This spring, Walt Disney World guests will get a chance to experience a bit of the Land of Oz themselves, as a new interactive play area themed to the film will debut as part of the 2013 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.
The area will have a few different sections. First, guests will get the chance to follow in the Wizard’s footsteps from his life before Oz with a special circus-themed area, filled with midway games and photo opportunities. Next, the “Land of Oz Play Area” will be themed to Oz itself, with play equipment adorned with giant flowers, bubbles filling the air, and even the Wizard of Oz’s crashed hot air balloon. Guests will also have the chance to wander through the “Oz Movie Garden,” in which they can see some unusual plants that were inspired by the Land of Oz.
The new area will debut when the 2013 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival officially kicks off on March 6, 2013. Oz: The Great and Powerful will debut in theaters March 8, 2013.
