A new video game for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console system is expected to be announced today that is sure to delight Disney fans. The new game, titled Kinect Disneyland Adventure, utilizes Xbox’s hands-free Kinect controller to give players the chance to walk around Disneyland from the comfort of their own home.
With Disneyland Adventure, users will be able to walk around a virtual Disneyland, meet and take pictures with characters, and even hop on a ride. For example, players can ride the classic Disneyland attraction “Peter Pan’s Flight,” where they can fly through the streets of London and off to Neverland.
About the game, Disney’s Adam Sussman says that Disneyland Adventures is:
“something that’s incredibly innovative and unique. Something very different than (consumers) have ever experienced before on a gaming system. (…) Everything is replicated to a fine level of detail. You can meet and greet and take pictures (with characters) and get on a ride.”
Microsoft and Disney plan to announce the game later today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, where more details about the game will be revealed. Also to be announced are similar Kinect games based on Star Wars and Sesame Street.
