This year marks the 20th anniversary of The Lion King and Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating with a new hard-ticket event.
The events, ‘Harambe Nights,’ is the first-ever ticketed special event at the park and it includes a Welcome Reception with appetizers and beverages, a performance of The Lion King – Concert in the Wild with celebrity narrators, and the Harambe Nights Street Party.
Guests will be seated inside the new Harambe Theater for a performance of The Lion King – Concert in the Wild featuring celebrity narrators, a live orchestra, choir, and special effects.
The celebrity narrators are as follows:
- June 7: Viola Davis, The Help
- June 14: TBD
- June 21: Montego Glover, The Following
- June 28: David Alan Grier, In Living Color
- July 5: Michael Beach, Sons of Anarchy
- July 12: Harry Lennix, The Blacklist
- July 19: Joe Morton, Scandal
- July 26: Alfre Woodard, Miss Evers Boys
- August 2: Patina Miller, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1
- August 9: Brian Stokes Mitchell: Glee
After the performance the Harambe Nights celebration continues with the Harambe Nights Street Party including an all-inclusive buffet featuring African cuisine and gourmet desserts. The street party will also feature music, characters, live performances, and a DJ.
Harambe Nights takes place every Saturday from June 7 through August 9. The Welcome Reception starts at 7 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $119 for adults, $79 for ages 3-9, plus tax.
