Today the Walt Disney World Resort announced their Monstrous Summer plans that include fun for the entire family.
The Monstrous Summer celebrates the June 21 release of Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, and in addition to the newly wrapped Monsters U monorail, guests will also experience all-new collegiate settings when the meet Mike and Sully. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios the meet and greet area on the Backlot has been transformed into the Monsters University Student Union. At the Magic Kingdom, guests will hear all new jokes at the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.
In addition to the Monsters U fun, guests will have a chance to experience all new adventures and delicious places to eat at New Fantasyland, while over in Epcot guests can create their own virtual concept car before they board a SimCar and race through the redesigned Test Track Presented by Chevrolet.
Other new additions this summer include the Wilderness Explorers experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and a new meet-and-greet with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse also at the Animal Kingdom. And, if you’ve always dreamed of being a pirate, be sure to check out A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasure of the Seven Seas at the Magic Kingdom.
And don’t forget the on-going Limited Time Magic giving guest an “extra dose of pixie dust” each week this year. Be sure to catch the Limited Time Magic during Independence Week when Disney celebrates America with a Fourth of July Fireworks Party every night.
If all this Monstrous fun makes you hungry, be sure to watch for the grand opening of L’Artisan des Glaces, the new artisan ice cream and sorbet shop opening in Epcot in mid-June. And, the California Grill in Disney’s Contemporary Resort is scheduled to be reopened by the end of summer, giving guests a new dining room, onstage kitchen, and new menu choices.
