Some of the biggest names in Hollywood are lending their voice talents to Monsters University, the latest Disney/Pixar film opening this summer.
Joining original Monsters Inc. voice talents Billy Crystal (Mike Wazowski) and John Goodman (James P. Sullivan) are Steve Buscemi, Helen Mirren, Alfred Molina, Dave Foley, Sean P. Hayes, Joel Murray, Peter Sohn, Charlie Day, Nathan Fillion, Bobby Moynihan, Julia Sweeney, Aubrey Plaza, Tyler Labine, John Krasinski, Bonnie Hunt, Beth Behrs and John Ratzenberger.
Bonnie Hunt and John Ratzenberger are Pixar “veterans” of sorts. Hunt voiced characters in A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 3, Cars, and Monsters Inc. (though not the same character as this time around), while Ratzenberger has performed a voice in every feature-length Pixar film.
“Working with this group of actors was an extraordinary experience,” said the film’s director Dan Scanlon. “They each brought a unique level of humor, emotion and creativity to their work that not only complemented their individual performances, but made the overall story come together in a really wonderful way.”
Monsters University is directed by Dan Scanlon (Cars, Mater and the Ghostlight, Tracy), produced by Kori Rae (Up, The Incredibles, Monsters, Inc.) and features music from future Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Randy Newman (Monsters, Inc., Toy Story 3).
Monsters University opens nationwide June 21.
