Frozen really is headed to Broadway.
The film’s producer Peter Del Vecho confirmed earlier reports that that Academy Award-winning film is being turned into a Broadway play.
In an interview with TVGuide.com Del Vecho said “there is no specific timeline” for when Frozen might make its way to Broadway but would only say that it was “under development.”
Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee – the film’s director’s – are also rumored to be attached to the project.
The cast of the film features several Broadway stars including Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Santonio Fontana, Jonathon Groff, and Josh Gad.
Frozen has grossed more than $1.2 billion worldwide and won Oscars for Best Original Song (Let It Go) and Best Animated Feature.
Walt Disney Animation Studios also recently announced a new short film, Frozen Fever, which is set to debut in the spring of 2015.
