Warren Spector, the creator of Disney’s Epic Mickey, received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards (GDCA’s.)
With a 30 year career in the video game industry, Spector is widely regarded as one of the top game designers in the industry. His career defining work came in 2000 with the release of Deus Ex, a game which went on to earn “Best PC Game of All Time” in 2009.
When Spector left Ion Storm, a development company he managed, he went to Junction Point, which was acquired by Disney Interactive Studios in 2007. There, he worked on developing Epic Mickey, his first work for Disney. The game was released in 2010 and was recognized for its unique storyline and charming art as it pays homage to over 80 years of Disney history.
