Just like juicy hot dogs & baseball Americans love a good pizza! Disney guests have been complaining for years, especially those from pizza-purist states, that when visiting ‘the Mouse’ there was no decent pizza to enjoy on property. Since announcing a new restaurant in EPCOT, “Via Napoli,” the Disney-web has been abuzz with anticipation of what the menu might look like, pricing, whether it was going to participate in the popular Disney Dining Plan, and most importantly… how it’s going to taste! Once again the Disney Food Blog delivers with up to the minute news about “Via Napoli;” letting us in on a great surprise, it’s opening early! “Via Napoli” in the Italian Pavilion at EPCOT will be open in August 2010 for hungry guests to enjoy!
Head on over to the Disney Food Blog to check out the menu, it sounds completely delicious! Sicilian eggplant, calamari, lasagna verde, multiple wood-fired pizza choices, and “piatti alla parmigiana” are just a few of the highlights. Busting out of the seams [I’m afraid I will too] with Southern Italian specialties, the menu is sure to appease many Disney guest cravings. You can see the menu here: EPCOT’s Via Napoli Menu
Still shrouded in mystery are the menu prices. In May we featured an article, “Disney Guests Concerned About Via Napoli Pricing,” here on DisZine discussing rumors that a large pizza pie could run a whopping $27., and the family-sized pizza could cost families as much as $44.! During a time when families are looking for a dining bargain to save money on vacation, the $44. family-sized pizza seems like a stiff crust to crack. Even though menu pricing isn’t finalized there has been a lot of discussion that if rumor plays true it may be more than guests are willing to pay for a pie.
