The 2014 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival begins March 5 with new topiaries and the return of the popular Outdoor Kitchens.
The topiaries for this year’s festival include Goofy, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck taking part in a butterfly hunt at the main entrance to Epcot. A Muppet-themed topiary with Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will be located in World Showcase.
Also returning this year are the popular Outdoor Kitchens that debuted at the 2013 festival.
Guests visiting the Festival Center will be able to pick up a Garden Passport which can be stamped at various locations around the festival, including the Outdoor Kitchens. Each Kitchen has its own unique stamp.
The HGTV Theater is also located in the Festival Center, and guests can learn tips from the HGTV experts and learn how Disney Horticulture creates the magic in the festival’s blooms. Each day at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. guests can get plating pointers from experts from IFAS at the University of Florida, and from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day guests can get answers from IFAS experts at the Greenhouse Stage.
The gardens at this year’s festival include the Garden Retreat presented by HGTV at the Test Track Walkway, the Water Wise Herbs & Vegetables garden presented by Rain Bird Corporation at the Imagination Walkway, and the Florida Garden located adjacent to the Germany Pavilion.
Special exhibits include Hummingbirds at Home adjacent to the Disney/Pixar Cars Topiary, Tinker Bell’s Butterfly House on the Imagination Walkway, the Bonsai Collection in the Japan Pavilion, and an orchid exhibit in the Mexico Pavilion.
