Epcot celebrated its 35th anniversary on Sunday, October 1 with special events, performances, specialty food items, merchandise, and more.
The celebration kicked off with a special ceremony at the Fountain of Nations where George A. Kalogridis, president of Walt Disney World Resort, spoke.
Voices of Liberty and the Mariachi Cobre were also part of the ceremony – both of the groups have been part of Epcot since it opened on October 1, 1982.
Several new projects for Epcot were announced earlier this year at the D23 Expo including a new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction in the former home of Universe of Energy, a new Ratatouille attraction in the France pavilion, and a new Mission: SPACE-themed restaurant in Future World.
Mission: SPACE was updated this summer.
