Fall might be in the air now, but the Walt Disney World Resort is already thinking about late winter and early spring 2015.
The New Year kicks off in January with the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, January 11-15. The weekend includes the Disney Family Fun Run 5K, the Walt Disney World Half Marathon, runDisney Kids’ Races, and the Walt Disney World Marathon. Racers can also participate in the Goofy’s Race and Half Challenge and the Dopey Challenge.
New for 2015 is the addition of the Disney Castaway Cay Challenge which takes place on Castaway Cay during the 4-night cruise on the Disney Dream that sails January 12.
The Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic is scheduled for February 1 through March 1 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. This four-week soccer event was created to boost interest in soccer throughout Central Florida and features eight professional teams including six Major League Soccer squads.
In mid-February the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend takes place and includes the half marathon, the Disney Enchanted 10K, the Royal Family 5K, runDisney Kids’ Races, and the Glass Slipper Challenge. Runners can also participate in the Castaway Cay 5K the following week.
Runners who race in the Princess Half Marathon in February and the Tinker Bell Half Marathon presented by PANDORA Jewelry in May at Disneyland can earn a special pink version of the runDisney Coast to Coast Race Challenge Medal.
The 22nd annual Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival returns to Epcot on March 4 and runs through May 17.
