The fine that Walt Disney World received for a violation that led to a monorail accident and worker’s death has been reduced substantially.
OSHA, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration had originally fined Disney $44,000 in December for violations that contributed to the July 5th, 2009 monorail accident. The accident resulted in the death of a Disney employee. The fine has now been reduced to $35,200.
Disney indicates that it is working with OSHA to resolve any further concerns, but did not comment further. Disney was issued 4 violations by OSHA, all of which it says it will correct.
