Filming has started in Vancouver on Walt Disney Studios’ mystery-adventure film Tomorrowland.
The film stars two-time Academy Award winner George Clooney (Syriana), along with Hugh Laurie (House), Britt Robertson (Under The Dome), Raffey Cassidy (Snow White and the Huntsman), and Thomas Roberston (The Switch).
No one knows for sure what the movie is really about, but the studio provided this description: Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as Tomorrowland.
The film is being directed, produced, and co-written by two-time Academy Award winner Brad Bird (The Incredibles). Damon Lindelof (Star Trek Into Darkness) and Jeffrey Chernov (Star Trek Into Darkness) are also producers. The screenplay – written by Bird and Lindelof – is from a story by Lindelof, Bird, and Jeff Jensen.
Tomorrowland is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 12, 2014 by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
