On Friday guests at Disney’s California Adventure park received an unexpected treat, a soft opening for the re-imagineered “Silly Symphonies Swings” attraction on Paradise Pier. Formally known as the “Orange Stinger” the swings went under refurbishment as part of Disney’s $1 billion expansion and makeover of the park. Two weeks before the re-themed attraction was scheduled to re-open the Orange County Register is reporting that Disney guest relation officials are unable to confirmation if the soft opening will continue during Memorial Day weekend.
“The new ride allows visitors to swing in the open air with a Mickey Mouse on top. The theme is based on the first color Mickey Mouse cartoon, “The Band Concert,” from 1935.” -OC Register
