After celebrating its 10th anniversary earlier this month, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge now has something else to smile about – being awarded AAA Four-Diamond status.
By earning this prestigious status, Animal Kingdom Lodge has become the seventh Walt Disney World resort to achieve this honor, a distinction awarded to only four percent of AAA-rated hotels. Some of the world-class amenities and services offered by the lodge include three African-inspired restaurants; a thatched-roof lobby with a mud fireplace and flowing stream inside; and an elevated “kopje,” which is actually a rock outcropping that enables guests to view the resort’s animals up close and personal.
Kim Marinaccio, general manager, has this to say about the status upgrade:
What helps our resort is that our cast members and leaders embrace the African culture, which is very warm and sharing. Our cast members have a passion for African culture and conservation, and they’re excited to share this knowledge with guests.
Certainly, the warm and friendly attitudes of Disney cast members helped to achieve the coveted AAA Four-Star status. Congratulations to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and all of its cast members!
