Disney’s Animal Kingdom park is set to host the 3rd annual “Expedition Everest Challenge;” a night-time competitive race on Saturday, June 12th. Groups of two competitors, and solo racers, will challenge themselves to finish a 5K through the park, complete a climb-crawl obstacle course, and finish with a scavenger hunt. In addition to the adult challenge, there will be a special children’s race at 7:30 p.m. for young adventurers.
Kick-off time for the race is 8:30 p.m., which will be preceded by a special fireworks display. After the race, participants & spectators with party tickets have the opportunity to attend an after-party in the park; the party runs from 9:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. Even though after-party activities have not been confirmed the “Examiner” is reporting that previous parties have included a deejay and the freedom to enjoy some park attractions.
Awards for top three finishers in Team Division (Men’s, Women’s, Co-ed, and Military) and Individual Divisions (Men’s Women’s, and Military) will take place at approximately 11:30 p.m.
